Man United are set to sell Brandon Williams to Ipswich Town.
Erik ten Hag made three astute additions to start the transfer window, though things stagnated after that point. Manchester United are now in a situation where they have to sell before they can buy.
Harry Maguire looked likely to depart, though the Englishman is choosing to stay and fight for his place. In terms of other major departures, it has all been pretty flat on that front.
Some younger lads will leave. Noam Emeran for example. Now, another departure seems imminent; Brandon Williams.
It’s Sky Sports News’ Pete O’Rourke with the news. He stated that the 22-year-old United defender is ‘poised’ to join Championship club, Ipswich Town, this summer.
Although unclear whether a loan or a permanent deal, the latter would make the most sense as Williams has fallen down the pecking order since Ten Hag took charge at the Theatre of Dreams.

A reunion with Kieran McKenna would make a whole lot of sense. Ipswich Town are flying in the Championship right now, winning three from three.
Obviously, the pair know each other well, with McKenna trusting in Williams’ ability by sanctioning this move.
Williams is at the stage in his career where he needs to be playing regular football. Ipswich Town should offer him that chance as soon as he walks through the entrance door.
For United, it frees up some extra weekly wages while picking up some sort of transfer fee. For Williams, it’s that second chance. I fully expect him to take that and prove to the world that he is still good enough for top-level football.
