Sofyan Amrabat has been assigned his Man United shirt number, while also the first images of him in his new kit have been released.
Manchester United’s transfer deadline day was pretty hectic. Four players were brought in as Erik ten Hag continues to bolster his playing squad.
The Red Devils are dealing with injuries all across the board right now, which forced the club into signing a left-back. However, treatment table woes aside, the club were crying out for another midfielder.
Sofyan Amrabat was linked with an Old Trafford move early on in the window. The Fiorentina man felt like the perfect fit, particularly after watching him play in the World Cup at the back end of 2022.
The incredibly mobile 27-year-old had to remain patient in order to earn his dream move to the Theatre of Dreams, though it did get done.
Now that the final formalities and details are complete, United have released the first photos of Amrabat in club colours – and he absolutely suits this kit.
They’ve asked revealed that he’ll wear the number four shirt, which was previously worn by Phil Jones.

I just cannot wait to see him in action. Amrabat should provide some balance to a midfield that definitely needs a little bit of extra help. They miss Fred’s energy and tenacity, though Amrabat will provide that in abundance.
Whether he’ll start next time out is another question. Ten Hag has often integrated new signings in slowly, though Amrabat’s presence may well be required from minute one.
Although a loan move, this is the sort of player I can see United adding permanently next summer. I guess the only issue with Amrabat is the fact that he’ll be unavailable in January due to AFON participation.
