Man United will be breathing a sigh of relief after a positive Victor Lindelof injury update.
Manchester United are now on a two-week hiatus due to the international break. Perhaps it comes at a decent time for Erik ten Hag, who is under the cosh at present.
Injuries are starting to pile up, with both Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof succumbing to injury last time out. We’ve already covered the latest on the Argentine here.
Now, we’ve been given news on Lindelof. Thankfully, for United, it’s a positive injury update on the 29-year-old – and it comes from Sweden’s manager.
According to their gaffer, ‘everything is fine’, ‘there are no problems’ and most importantly, ‘he is fit’.
At the time, Ten Hag stated it was just an illness rather than an injury. Now, that seems to have been backed up.
Here is the latest Victor Lindelof injury update in full:
“Everything is fine. There are no problems. He is fit.” Sweden coach Janne Andersson told the media, including Tribuna.
With Raphael Varane still missing, keeping Lindelof fit is huge. We witnessed Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire trying to cope against Arsenal in the dying embers of that game. It was not pretty.
Lindelof is a massive upgrade on both of those two and the Ice Man has turned into a reliable option for Ten Hag. The Swede has absolutely earned the trust of the gaffer and also the fans. I guess that’s what happens when you’re not next to Maguire at the heart of the back line…
I don’t doubt that Lindelof will continue to play well in the absence of Varane. I genuinely believe there’s a real possibility that the Frenchman finds it tough to get back into the side upon his return.
