After much deliberation, our best MUFC XI when everyone is fit is now in following the conclusion of the transfer window…
Manchester United’s start to the season has been mixed. Erik ten Hag’s side have not looked anywhere close to their best in the opening four matches, which is a real cause for concern.
Transfer deadline day was uncharacteristically busy for the Red Devils. Four signings were made. All were necessary due to the injury crisis.
Imagine we’re living in a perfect, injury-free world for a second. What would your best XI look like? Well, here at Old Trafford Faithful, we’ve drawn ours up…
The team does contain a couple of players who are currently sidelined through injury, but it does look like a strong team.
Check out our best MUFC XI for the 2023/24 season when everyone is fit:
In goal, we have Andre Onana. The man from Cameroon has looked super sharp since his arrival from Inter – both with the ball at feet and when it comes to shot-stopping.
At right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s redemption story is a great one. He’s now in line for a new contract at the club. Luke Shaw, when fit, is among the best in the business in the left-back position. Lisandro Martinez has been a top signing since arriving, as has Raphael Varane. This back two is now customary.
Casemiro needed midfield help. He was often left isolated which was becoming a problem, particularly towards the end of matches. It’s why Sofyan Amrabat’s arrival is so important. The man from Morocco is going to solidify that position almost single-handedly. Bruno Fernandes obviously completes the trio.
Rasmus Hojlund has only played 20 minutes, but the signs are there. He’s already ahead of Anthony Martial in my personal pecking order. To his right and left respectively is Antony and Marcus Rashford. Though the status of the former may be up in the air after some off-field allegations were made.
