Eric Bailly has sent a heartfelt message to the Man United fans as he leaves the club.
Manchester United Football Club had a pretty hectic deadline day, with four signings made as Erik ten Hag looks to add depth to the squad amid injury crisis.
The Reds’ problems stem from an inability to move away from players who just blatantly aren’t good enough. Their high wages coupled with their sub-par performances has made it tough where FFP is concerned.
Well, the dressing room has become a man lighter this week, with Eric Bailly departing. The Ivory Coast centre-back has headed to Besiktas on a permanent deal without a transfer fee.
Bailly had struggled fitness-wise over the last few years, meaning he’d find it difficult to earn any meaningful minutes. Simply put, he was left with no choice but to leave in order to get his career back on track.
Yesterday evening, the United man took to Twitter to express his ‘profound gratitude’ for the fans who supported him so firmly over the years, as he leaves the club for good.

Genuinely, I wish him nothing but the best. Bailly’s dedication to the cause can never be questioned. He’d always put his body on the line in order to stop the ball from going in the net – perhaps to his detriment at times.
It’s easy to forget just how elite he was during that debut season. Sadly, he was never able to recover from his treatment table woes. Perhaps the rigours of Premier League football meant he continued to push his body too hard. Perhaps a move to Turkey will allow him to rebuild the fitness and confidence.
All the best, Eric.
