Jadon Sancho will still not be available for selection when Man United take on Burnley this evening.
Manchester United could do with a victory, if only to stop the crows from circling.
The Old Trafford club have lost three games in a row, with pressure beginning to mount on Erik ten Hag at this stage.
Burnley away is never an easy task, particularly as the Clarets are still looking for their first victory of the season. You know that Turf Moor will be rocking, with their players ready to give that extra 10% as a result.
The gaffer did confirm that a few players may be back in the fold for this one, though one man who will not be back is Jadon Sancho.
Ten Hag confirms that the player ‘will not’ be in the match-day squad for the Burnley game, adding that ‘it depends’ on the player to make it right.
Check out what Ten Hag had to say in full here:
“Jadon Sancho will not be in our squad tomorrow”. Ten Hag told reporters, including Fabrizio Romano. “It depends on him. For the rest, we are preparing for Burnley and that’s our focus”.
To me, this suggests that Ten Hag will not be allowing Sancho back until he apologises and as things stand, I just do not see that happening. The player seems unwilling to back down from his stance, with Sancho seemingly unhappy at the treatment he has received.
At the end of the day, the manager is boss. Ten Hag is trying to bring structure back to the club and whether the player likes it or not, whatever he says, goes.
There’s probably some fault on both sides when you deep dive into what’s happening, but this is just the nature of the sport at the highest level.
