Man United have been boosted by the return to training of Mason Mount ahead of the Crystal Palace cup game.
Manchester United Football Club have been struck hard by the injury bug this season, with Red Devils players dropping like flies – or at least that’s what it feels like.
The Old Trafford side have been without almost a full starting line-up of players for large periods of the campaign. Finally, it feels as though there’s light at the end of the tunnel…
Sofyan Amrabat made his debut this weekend, with Raphael Varane also back in action, along with Harry Maguire. This morning, another Red Devil player was spotted out on the training field; Mason Mount.
United have been offered an injury boost with Mount, who hasn’t featured in training since mid-August after picking up an injury in the game against Spurs. Now, the club have confirmed he’s back on the pitches putting in the work.

I actually thought Mount played well against Spurs, looking like United’s best outfield player in that match. Typically, the Reds would lose the ex-Chelsea man for over a month, though now, he’s finally gearing up for a return to action.
The Englishman was signed for big money so there is some pressure on his shoulders to come in and do the business. It was always going to be a learning curve for Mount, who is now playing in a new system, for a new manager. Hopefully, the form will start to trend upwards now that he’s working towards his return.
Patience is key. Firstly, the club do not want to rush him back too early and risk further injury. Then, it’s about giving Mount the time to fully adapt to this new way of playing. I’d imagine it’ll be the winter period before we see the best out of him.
