Gary Lineker was full of praise for Rasmus Hojlund, after Man United beat Burnley 1-0.
Manchester United grabbed a much-needed victory away at Burnley on Saturday evening, in a tight-knit encounter against a well-drilled Clarets team. Credit where it’s due, Vincent Kompany has them playing some decent stuff.
For the Reds, it was a win-by-any-means necessary kind of game. Erik ten Hag’s side managed to squeeze out a massive three points.
After the game, Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker was full of praise for one big-money United signing in the form of Rasmus Hojlund. Although the Dane is still waiting for his first Premier League goal, the early signs are super encouraging.
Lineker highlighted his movement in particular, while adding that he ‘looks’ like someone who will score goals.
Check out what Lineker had to say in full here:
“I’ve watched him in the first two or three games that he’s played. He’s only scored the one goal so far – and that was in Europe – but he looks to me like he will score goals. I like his movement.” Lineker said live on Match of the Day, per the MEN.
You can certainly see why Ten Hag sanctioned a large portion of the transfer budget on Hojlund. Although a very raw prospect, he has the skillset required to make it at the highest level.
Hojlund plays with genuine intensity and effort, never giving the opposing defender a minute’s peace. That’ll serve him well over the course of his career as you can tell he really puts maximum effort into every single thing he does.
United now have a pretty kind run of games coming up. Hojlund, if he can stay fit, should use this opportunity to build rapport with his new teammates and look to fire in a few goals in order to continue to increase his own confidence levels.
