It looks as though Jadon Sancho is all set to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Manchester United Football Club have had some issues to deal with so far this term. Quite frankly, the start to the campaign can only be described as disastrous. Problems out on the right-wing have been evident. Mason Greenwood is no longer here. Antony is now available again, though he’s also had off-field things to deal with. Then you have Jadon Sancho…
The Englishman’s decision to question Erik ten Hag’s authority never looked like a wise one. He’s a gaffer who takes no rubbish and he was never going to allow a player to disrespect him. After some time away from the team, all had gone pretty quiet on that front.
Now, the usually reliable Florian Plettenberg has provided us an update on the Sancho saga. Ye says that the player is now ‘on the verge’ of leaving United in the January transfer window.
At this stage, a loan move seems probable, and more likely than a permanent switch at this time. On top of that, Borussia Dortmund’s boss is in regular contact with the player, as the two parties ‘appreciate each other very much’.

If there’s a big club that’s willing to take a punt on Sancho, it would be Dortmund. However, Plettenberg states that’s unlikely under the current circumstances.
You’d imagine that this is a scenario which will leave United paying a large chunk of Sancho’s wages for the remainder of the season, wherever he ends up, which is obviously not an ideal situation. However, this is the problem United have made for themselves, by paying massive wages to players who end up becoming rotational options at best.
Either way, I see no way back for Sancho under the current manager.
