Rasmus Hojlund has been included in WhoScored’s Champions League Team of the Week.
Manchester United Football Club are two losses from two games in the Champions League. Obviously, it’s a less than ideal start, particularly when you work so hard to finish inside the top four.
Erik ten Hag’s side have conceded seven goals in their opening two matches. Despite scoring five of their own, it’s the leaky defence which has been the problem.
Rasmus Hojlund has come into his own in this competition. Perhaps playing against European sides, who try to play expansive football, is suiting his playing style. He’s scored three times, including a lovely double against Galatasaray on Tuesday.
For his insane personal performance, Hojlund became the sole United star to be named in the latest WhoScored Team of the Week. He scored an 8.51 after his incredible display.

We wrote earlier about how Hojlund, despite being so young in footballing terms, is leading the way. It’s crazy that a 20-year-old is carrying so much pressure on his shoulders, but he seems to be relishing after being presented with that opportunity.
I actually think the Dane hasn’t had great service so far, particularly in the Premier League, otherwise, you’d expect that goal number to be considerably higher. However, you’d only expect improvement from Hojlund as he becomes more familiar in this new system.
This feels like the start of a long and promising career for Hojlund, as long as he remains confident in his own abilities – something that has been sucked out of players during a turbulent period at Old Trafford…
Congratulations, Rasmus!
