Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, was full of praise for Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the Man United vs Brentford game this weekend.
Manchester United’s form recently is a real cause for concern. The Red Devils have won four of their ten opening games, losing the other six. The pressure is building on Erik ten Hag and his players.
The game against Galatasaray was just the latest in a long line of sub-par displays, particularly defensively. Two goals at home against the Turkish side should be enough to get the job done. Sadly, it wasn’t and Wilfried Zaha took full advantage of his former employers.
There was one bright spark from that game; Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane was excellent in every capacity. His hold-up play was sublime, while he displayed his deadline finishing on a few occasions (one was sadly ruled out).
His brilliance was on full display, while it has caught the eye of Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, ahead of the game this weekend. The gaffer singled out Hojlund for praise for his midweek performance, claiming it was ‘impressive’ and he looks in a ‘very good place’ on a personal level. If only his teammates would help him out, huh…?
Check out what Thomas Frank had to say on Rasmus Hojlund in full here:
“He’s scoring goals. I know he’s not playing for Brentford, but I’m Danish and I’m happy that a Danish player is coming through and doing well.” Frank told the Brentford website.
“I must say, it was an impressive performance for him against Galatasaray, two very good goals. He looks like he’s in a very good place.
After overcoming his early season injury, Hojlund has looked immense. It’s crazy to see someone so young perform at such a high level so early on in his career. Carrying the pressure of playing for United is never easy, particularly when you’re still so young. Hojlund deserves all the credit he’s receiving.
Frank obviously is enjoying seeing his countryman playing so well, though no doubt he’ll be hoping to keep the 20-year-old quiet this weekend.
All that’s missing right now is a first Premier League goal. It’d be lovely if he can find the back of the net at Old Trafford tomorrow.
