Man United could move for Nordi Mukiele in the January transfer window.
Manchester United’s squad is decimated by injury right now. The Red Devils find themselves with holes all over the squad – particularly in the defensive third of the field.
Right now, the club only have one fit full-back on their books. Diogo Dalot is flying the flag high over on the right-hand side of defence.
It’s no surprise then, to learn that United are looking to bring in a right-back during the January transfer window. Budget permitting, I would assume. It’s Football Transfers with the claim. They state that man United have eyes on Nordi Mukiele.
The 25-year-old is deemed a ‘viable target’ for United by Football Transfers, with a winter window move possibly in the offing.
Ten Hag is a fan of Mukiele’s versatility, given that the Frenchman can play all across the back four if needed. Although right-back is his preferred position.
Mukiele himself could be keen on the move, as he’s struggled for minutes since transferring to PSG back in 2022.
What’s interesting about Football Transfers’ article is that they claim Ten Hag is ‘not a fan’ of Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s ‘temperament’, believing he doesn’t have the personality conducive to playing in a winning side.
The gaffer also isn’t sold on Dalot, who he believes lacks physicality and defensive stability. If only we could merge the two players together, then maybe Manchester United could be onto something…
As for Mukiele, he would provide the best of both worlds. Although not as good defensively as Wan-Bissaka, he’s much more productive in the attacking sense. You’d hope that this blend of both players would be preferred in a side that wants to have genuine trophy aspirations.
