Juventus are looking to bring in Jadon Sancho on loan, with the possibility of it turning into a permanent transfer next summer.
As you’ll all know by now, Jadon Sancho is completely exiled from the Manchester United squad. The Englishman thought it wise to publicly hit back at Erik ten Hag, after the manager criticised his training performances. We haven’t seen the Englishman in a matchday squad since.
Our gaffer is big on managerial authority. As soon as you try to undermine his control, you’re in big trouble. Sancho hasn’t been in first-team training since the two decided to have a very public spat. That situation does not look like changing any time soon.
Inevitably, the transfer rumours have started. On Saturday, The Sun claimed that Sancho is being targeted by Juventus.
According to the report, the European giant is looking to take the out-of-favour United star on loan this January, in a deal that could lead to a £60m permanent move next summer.
The Italians are initially keen on a short-term deal that would see United pay half of Sancho’s wages, as they look to take advantage of the fact that United are looking to put the 23-year-old in the shop window.
With Sancho still refusing to apologise, it looks as though there’s no way back into the first-team as things stand. Perhaps that could change before the January transfer window, though the situation remains at a standstill for now…
The verdict
I personally do not see either party backing down. Thus, as a result, I see no way back for Sancho and I don’t believe he’ll ever play for the club again.
If Sancho does perform well for Juventus during the second half of the season, I can see a permanent move happening. However, I’d be stunned if United manage to get £60m for him, particularly as he hasn’t really looked that good when out on the field. Somewhere around the £30m mark feels like a more realistic fee.
