There is a belief that Jadon Sancho’s Man United career may already be over.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock of late, you’ll know that Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho have had a very public disagreement. The Englishman’s training performances were critiqued by the gaffer, with Sancho not taking too kindly to his public outing.
We haven’t seen the ex-Borussia Dortmund man take to the field since, with rumours about his future now swirling. There is a very real possibility we never see Sancho in a red shirt again, after his refusal to apologise to the manager.
The usually reliable Rob Dawson of ESPN has provided the latest update on that front – and it’s bad news for those who want Sancho to stay at the club.
Apparently, there is now a ‘growing feeling’ at Man United that the 23-year-old’s Reds career ‘might already be over’. It’s reiterated that Sancho is yet to apologise, with Ten Hag asking for both a private and public apology from the wide man.
Ten Hag is yet to completely close the door on the possibility that Sancho could be reintegrated into the squad, but for now, he remains on an individual training programme.
A source has also stated that Sancho’s England teammates, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford, have urged the player to apologise so he can start to be reintroduced back into the mix.
The verdict
Honestly, it just feels too far gone at this point. Ten Hag doesn’t like his authority being questioned. It’s his managerial style and it’ll now be on Sancho to put this right – if he wants to.
I can only see a scenario which sees Sancho leave on loan in January, while United continue to pay his wages, before a permanent exit from the Theatre of Dreams next summer.
