Erik ten Hag is ready to get rid of Jadon Sancho, as early as the January transfer window.
Manchester United have a Jadon Sancho situation that is still far from its resolution. Erik ten Hag has exiled the English winger from the first-team fold after the player decided to take to social media, hitting back at his manager.
The word on the street is that unless Sancho apologises both publicly and privately, he will not be returning to the dressing room.
The I newspaper (subscription required) have now released an update on the situation. They state that Ten Hag is now ready to ‘wash his hands’ of the 23-year-old United star. That makes sense, given the fact that the two remain at loggerheads.
However, Sancho’s side of the story is a little different. Apparently, he’s not ready to give up on his Reds career just yet… Especially under a different manager, should Ten Hag depart amid the club’s struggles.
This is another awful look for Sancho. Firstly, it seems as though he’s wishing his teammates to lose games in order for the Dutchman to get the sack – which isn’t happening any time soon, by the way…
Ten Hag will be given time. He has plenty of credit in the bank and although the performances haven’t been great, it still feels like he’s absolutely the right man for the job.
In these situations, it’s always the manager over player. Sancho, whether he’s in the right or in the wrong, will be the one who has to make this right if he wants a future at the Theatre of Dreams.
As things stand, the only option I see is a Sancho loan move this January, before a permanent exit next summer.
