Marcus Rashford scored a sublime goal for England on Tuesday night, offering us all a reminder of his ability.
Manchester United Football Club have been playing like a team low on confidence. Since matchday one, the dressing room has been decimated by injury, but even players that are supposed to be leading the way, have struggled.
Bruno Fernandes has been steady enough, with the club captain looking better for his country than he has his club as of late. Let’s hope he can bring that form back with him to Manchester.
Another player who fits into that category right now is Marcus Rashford The Englishman has come under heavy fire from some sections of the fanbase for some poor performances – particularly over the last few weeks.
However, Rashford is another who is looking to use confidence earned at international level to his advantage. The United star scored a wonderful goal for England after some excellent work from Jude Bellingham against Italy last night. It was glimpses of the Rashford we know and love. He simply has to bring those qualities back with him to Old Trafford as soon as possible.
We all know how special he can be. What frustrates people is the lack of attitude sometimes. While for England, it looks as if the attacker if giving it his absolute all. I just think that sometimes, Rashy can get a little too emotional at times – both positively and negatively.

It’s highlighted by his performances last season. In a winning side when the team is playing well, he’s an absolute world-beater. When the chips are down and the going gets tough, Rashford will shy away. That’s just how some footballers are naturally and it will never change.
However, he has to use his excellent international display as motivation and a reminder to himself that he is capable of going toe-to-toe with the best players on the planet. That goal, coupled with a goal or two for United over the next couple of weeks, would work wonders. It’s up to Rashford to want it badly enough.
All it takes is one moment. This excellent run, coupled with delightful finish, could be the turning point. It may sound trivial, but positive confidence and morale can often be the difference at the highest level.
Do I think we’ll see a better Rashford on the back of this goal? Absolutely, but he has to follow it up with another strike this weekend, otherwise, we could see him slump his way back to some bad habits and mediocre performances.
