Man United have eyes on Galatasaray right-back, Sacha Boey.
Manchester United have a major injury crisis right now, particularly in the full-back defensive areas. All three left-backs, Sergio Reguilon, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are all missing. Over on the right-hand side, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another casualty.
Erik ten Hag has already thought about upgrading in the wing-back positions, which makes sense given the inconsistency from his current crop of options in that area of the field.
Over the last 24 hours, Fotospor have thrown a new name into the mix; Sacha Boey.
The Galatasaray right-back started against United in the Champions League a couple of weeks ago, putting in an impressive performance on both sides of the ball.
Fotospor claim that United are one of the sides showing an interest in signing the 23-year-old defender, amid their full-back injury crisis.
Arsenal, Brighton and Burnley have all sent scouts to watch the French defender in action recently. All those sides, as well as representatives from clubs across Europe, were in attendance over the weekend as Galatasaray beat Besiktas 2-1.
Boey currently has a deal that runs until 2025, meaning he could be available for a very reasonable fee next summer – assuming he doesn’t agree to new terms before then.
In terms of stylistic fit, Boey would be a great addition. He’s a hard worker on both sides of the ball, an excellent defender but also someone who can impact the game in the final third.
Obviously, it seems as though there’s going to be massive competition to sign the young Frenchman, who is making a real name for himself over in the Turkish Super Lig.
In terms of who he’d potentially replace at United, it’d have to be Diogo Dalot… I know Aaron Wan-Bissaka‘s skillset isn’t the perfect system fit, but for my money, he’s just a better all-round player.
