Man United’s Diogo Dalot has been named in the latest BBC Team of the Week.
Manchester United’s performances this season have been less than impressive. We have to be honest with ourselves.
Erik ten Hag hasn’t been helped by off-field issues regarding club ownership and some players. Injuries have also played their part. However, we’re going to need to see an up-turn in form soon if we’re serious about challenging for the top four, nevermind major trophies…
Last weekend’s game was another sub-par outing. However, there was real grit and determination on show, which leads me to believe this dressing room is still playing for one another – and the manager.
Diogo Dalot proved to be the eventual match-winner with a truly outrageous strike from outside the area. The man from Portugal is playing well in the absence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The ex-Porto man has done a very good job, including ensuring all three points were brought back to Old Trafford with that lovely goal.
Now, as a result, Dalot became the one United star named in the latest BBC Team of the Week, in amongst a good mix of City, Spurs and Liverpool players.

You just have to be impressed with what Dalot did in this game. It would have been easy for the right-back to moan following losing his place to Wan-Bissaka last season. Instead, he’s risen to the challenge and proven that he does have what it takes to regain the starting job on a permanent basis.
Whether he’s good enough to maintain these levels and become one of the best in the world in his position is another matter entirely. The ability is obviously there. We just don’t see it from him on a consistent basis which has often been the problem.
Let’s hope this result will allow Dalot to kick on and really prove his worth.
