Kobbie Mainoo has taken to social media to provide an injury update after getting some minutes in the tank yesterday.
Manchester United’s senior team ground out a 1-0 victory at home to Copenhagen yesterday, which was a massive result for the Old Trafford side and their Champions League hopes.
Over in the UEFA Youth Champions League, there was the injury return of the next budding star; Kobbie Mainoo.
We haven’t seen the Stockport-born-midfielder ever since he picked up a problem in pre-season, which was a massive shame given his insane performances in the few friendly games he did play.
Mainoo has proven that he has what it takes to force his way into Erik ten Hag’s plans, though granted, it’s going to take him some time to get fully up to speed.
Now, after getting 45 minutes under the belt, the United starlet provided an injury update for the fans, claiming it was good to get some minutes in the tank, but the hard work can now start.
Check out Kobbie Mainoo’s social media post here:
It’s unfair that there’s already a whole lot of pressure on Mainoo’s shoulders, but the fans have already seen what immense abilities he has. We do have to remain patient and give Mainoo all the time he needs to get back to full fitness.
Bear in mind that he has been out for months. Hence, it could take at least another month before he’s feeling ready to start high-intense Premier League matches.
The good news is that he’s now working towards being 100%. I really do believe that when he hits those levels, he could be pushing the likes of Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat for regular minutes.
