Diogo Dalot cost Man United in a crucial Champions League game, according to Paul Scholes.
Manchester United Football Club have been struggling this season. The Red Devils have not been playing consistently since day one, meaning it has been tough to find any rhythm and momentum. Sure, injuries have not helped, but the displays just haven’t been up to standard.

Copenhagen eventually took full advantage of the man advantage, targeting Diogo Dalot in the out-of-position left-back slot. It was his mistake that allowed the Dane’s to score the all-important third, before winning it late on.
After the match, pundit Paul Scholes wasn’t best-pleased with the Reds star, who he believes ‘cost Man United dearly’ due to his poor performance and lack of concentration for the third goal in particular.

This is just where we’re at right now. Dalot is playing out of position, for a club that tried to get rid a few years ago. He was loaned to AC Milan where he’d hardly set the world alight, before being given another chance at Old Trafford. Sorry, but that doesn’t happen at any other big club within the sport.
It just perfectly sums up the Glazer regime. Overpriced, overpaid players who can’t be sold due to their excessive wages. This is not a knock on Dalot, by the way, it’s a mistake made by the club. It’s something that will just keep on happening until a change in ownership, whether we like it or not…
This is what Ten Hag is working with right now. It’s why the Dutchman has such a monumental task at-hand. This club is trending downwards and he’s doing all he can to stop that trajectory. His task would be made easier with some January signings of real quality but money is incredible tight so that isn’t happening, either.
