Three Man United players are in line to be sold in the January transfer window, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe keen on overhauling the squad as soon as possible.
Some form of Manchester United ownership changes are looking set to be made in the not-too-distant future. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to be close to purchasing an initial 25% of the club. While he’ll have responsibility over footballing decisions.
It’s no surprise then, to hear that Sir Jim, along with his INEOS group, are already looking at making some major decisions at the Theatre of Dreams. He’s going to undertake a full assessment of the situation, starting by demanding where £1.4b has been effectively wasted over recent years. It’s The Sun with the story.
Among the big decisions to be made by Failsworth-born Ratcliffe is about potential sales in the mid-season transfer period.
According to the article, a United trio of Antony, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho are ‘in line to be dumped’ in the January transfer window.
It goes without saying, all three have struggled. Antony’s off-field issues coupled with being so one-footed have led to some incredibly disappointing performances this season.
Sancho’s fallout with the gaffer is well documented and it doesn’t look like there’s any way back for the Englishman, who isn’t keen on making up and apologising to the gaffer.
Martial just isn’t playing. Rasmus Hojlund is the best striker at the club, while the Frenchman just hasn’t improved at all since coming through the doors at Old Trafford eight years ago.
Wanting to sell these guys is one thing, but actually being able to cash in is another matter entirely. I have major doubts about there being sufficient interest, particularly in the mid-season window.
