Man United could receive a double injury boost, with a couple of players potentially back fit and ready to play.
Manchester United’s season has been defined by injuries. Sadly, Erik ten Hag’s job has been made much tougher due to the Reds missing many important first-teamers for large periods.
Both Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford picked up issues during the recent international break though thankfully, those problems were not serious. Both should be good to go against Everton this weekend.
Ahead of that game against The Toffees, the Manchester Evening News provided us all with an injury round-up, containing possible excellent news…
They believe that United could potentially be given a double injury boost vs Everton this weekend, as a pair of players could return according to their information.
First, we have Rasmus Hojlund. The striker picked up an injury against Luton, ruling him out of Denmark action over the last couple of weeks. He has a hamstring issue, though it wasn’t thought to be serious and he was always expected back before the end of December.
Second, Luke Shaw. The Englishman’s injury has been far more serious. He hasn’t been seen since the second game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur, though he’s also been given a potential return date of this Sunday.
I have no qualms with Hojlund starting in that game, though I would be extremely surprised if Shaw is risked, particularly from the off. He has been out for so long and we’re yet to see him back in training, so I’d only give him a slim chance at being included in the XI. If all is going well against Everton, we could see him off the bench late on, but even then, it feels like an unnecessary risk.
