Rasmus Hojlund remains doubtful to feature for Man United vs Everton, according to Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United were dealt a double injury blow in their last Premier League game, as both Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund went down with separate issues.
The former is set to be out for at least another few weeks, which is obviously super gutting given his recent form. The latter was also forced to pull out of Denmark duty, though his issue was immediately deemed less serious.
Now, the gaffer has confirmed that he is ‘not sure’ if Hojlund will be fit enough to take on Everton this weekend. His issue is ‘not too bad’, which is good news as he should not be out for too long, even if he is absent from the squad this weekend.
Check out what the gaffer had to say on Rasmus Hojlund in full here:
“Rasmus Hojlund, not too bad. Everton will be a close finish but we’re working on that.” Ten Hag told club media.
“We’re not sure if he can make that, but hopefully, in the next week, he will return to the squad.”
Although Hojlund is yet to score his first Premier League goal, he’s undoubtedly our best striker. He’s performed well in the Champions League in particular, while his all-round game has been there in English football. He just hasn’t been able to find the back of the net.
No doubt that first goal will come soon, but we’re all pretty pleased with the output from the former Atalanta striker.
In terms of possible replacements, Ten Hag has two options. He either shifts Marcus Rashford to the main striker role, giving Alejandro Garnacho another chance on the left. Or, he drafts in Anthony Martial to the number nine position and allows Rashy to continue in his preferred spot. I expect he’ll go with the latter, assuming that Hojlund isn’t passed fit.
