Our predicted MUFC XI for a massive Champions League away game vs Galatasaray is now in…
Well, here we are. Manchester United find themselves in a must-win scenario in the Champions League, with a massive away game now in the offing.
Losing to Galatasaray at home was always going to make it tough, though when you follow that up with a loss against Copenhagen, you’re making the job infinitely harder for yourself. Nothing less than three points here, against an excellent Galatasaray side will suffice.
Erik ten Hag returns to the dugout here which is a nice boost, while confidence will be flowing following the demolition job of Everton on Sunday. The Reds will have to do this without Marcus Rashford, though, who is suspended.
Anyway, enough chitter chatter, let’s give you the full rundown of what our starting squad could look like for this one.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Galatasaray in full here:
Andre Onana has certainly looked far more confident of late. The man from Cameroon was important against Everton on Saturday and he will be feeling good.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka should come back into the starting line-up here after appearing off the substitutes bench over the weekend. Diogo Dalot will shift back over to the left-back position, allowing Luke Shaw a break as he continues to work his way back to full fitness following injury. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have emerged as the most trusted defensive duo at present. They will continue.
The Reds are looking thin on the ground in midfield. Scott McTominay has been playing well over the last couple of months and he absolutely deserves to play. Kobbie Mainoo was outstanding on full debut so he should start, though I do worry about throwing him into that fierce Turkish atmosphere. Bruno Fernandes will complete the midfield. He will captain the side.
Anthony Martial played too well to be dropped from the side, with Ten Hag’s decision made easier by the fact that Rasmus Hojlund has recently been injured. Antony is another injury casualty, meaning we should get to see Facundo Pellistri from the off. Alejandro Garnacho completes the XI.
