Amad has made the return to first-team Man United training after a multi-month injury absence.
Manchester United’s injury issues are finally easing. Yes, Erik ten Hag will be without the likes of Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez until 2024, though the squad is now looking in a far better place than it did a few weeks ago.
Kobbie Mainoo is back. Luke Shaw, too. Now, another player is going to return; Amad.
There have been whispers suggesting that the Ivory Coast winger was on the mend. Well, that news turned out to be true.
Today, the official club website have confirmed that the attacker has returned to first-team training following a multi-month injury, boosting United in the final third.
Amad had been dealing with a knee injury that he picked up in the pre-season. At the time, I don’t think we realised we’d be losing the winger for so long…
Well, he’s now back working with the senior side and no doubt he’s chomping at the bit to get himself out on that field with a real chance to prove his worth.
After an excellent loan at Sunderland last season, Amad will be looking to bring his talents to the Premier League and prove his worth at the highest level.
Whether he can crack England’s top division is a tough question entirely. Suddenly, Antony is looking in good form over on that flank, while Facundo Pellistri and Marcus Rashford will also have a say on that side of the pitch right now.
I do hope Amad is given a fair crack at the whip, though I reckon it’s going to be 2024 before he’s in a real position to challenge as he will need time to build up to full fitness first.
