Victor Lindelof is now unavailable for Man United vs Bournemouth, with the Ice Man suffering an injury.
Just when it looks like the injuries are starting to clear up, Manchester United are hit with a further injury blow.
Erik ten Hag welcomed a few players back over the last fortnight, bolstering the squad, with the Reds looking better all across the board.
However, we have suffered a setback, with Victor Lindelof now missing. The Swede, who has turned into an important defender for United, has been ruled out of tomorrow’s game vs Bournemouth.
It’s the Manchester Evening News who have confirmed that the ex-SL Benfica man will be unavailable for a rare Saturday 3pm kick-off.
Lindelof was substituted at half-time after a rather average first 45 minutes against Chelsea, though it appears that it was now through injury rather than a tactical decision made by the manager.
The centre-half had turned into a regular starter alongside Player of the Month Harry Maguire at the heart of defence, though now Ten Hag will have to rethink how he wants to play it at Old Trafford tomorrow.
Jonny Evans is now back fit so the gaffer could opt for the veteran, while Raphael Varane will also be available after a minor back issue. There’s also the option of shifting Luke Shaw back to the centre-half position. All three are viable strategies for the gaffer.
You’d like to think that the Lindelof injury isn’t going to be too serious as he has played well of late. However, you’d also hope that United have the capabilities of beating Bournemouth, regardless of what side is put out tomorrow.
