The Evening Standard report that Arsenal are tipped to move for Giorgi Sudakov this summer, though they aren’t the only Premier League club in the race, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool all interested.
Shakhtar officials have been in London this week, with club CEO Sergei Palkin attending Chelsea’s match against Everton on Monday.
Palkin has since suggested that Sudakov will definitely leave Shakhtar this summer.
“This summer window, he has a big chance to move to some big clubs,” Palkin said.
“We have had some contacts with big clubs and some are not negotiating with us directly but are getting a feel for the summer environment.
“He will definitely move to a top European club this summer. When I was at Chelsea versus Everton on Monday, many people asked me about Sudakov.”
Napoli already had a £34m bid for Sudakov rejected in January, with Shakhtar holding out for at least £43m, and the Ukrainian club now reportedly want £60m.
21-year-old Sudakov has seven goals and three assists in 29 games for Shakhtar this season, including a Champions League goal against Barcelona.
With his national team, Sudakov provided assists for both goals as Ukraine came from behind to win against Iceland in March and qualify for the European Championships.
Palkin will be hoping that his star talent’s price will only rise at the Euros this summer.
