Thomas Tuchel finds himself in an interesting position these days at Bayern Munich.
As coaching rumors swirl around him, the 50-year-old can stay relaxed — knowing there is one goal left for him this season and probably his Bayern career, and that is the Champions League.
While other big names have turned down the Bavarians in their bid to find Tuchel’s successor, Tuchel can focus on piloting the ship for one more go at a Champions League trophy. And that is looking not bad at the moment.
Has the Bayern job been tarnished by the optics of these rejections? Tuchel is in the luxury position of not even having to care.
“I don’t think so. The job was attractive enough for me,” Tuchel offered evenly in response to the question, in comments captured via @iMiaSanMia. “Otherwise I would prefer to remain silent about that. I’m the coach at the moment. We have attractive tasks ahead of us, we want to reach the final of the Champions League. I’m not worried about the future of FC Bayern.”
