If Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich wants to make a move away from the club, Manchester City will have no problem paying the required fee for the Germany international:
Manchester City would reportedly have no issue paying the €50million required to sign German midfielder Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich this summer.
The 29-year-old is nearing the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena, and it seems that if he doesn’t agree to renew his deal with the club soon, then he’ll be allowed to leave for the right price.
According to Sport, as cited and translated by Sport Witness, that price would likely be in the region of €50m, and it has Man City and others on alert for his signature this summer.
Kimmich has played under Pep Guardiola before and could be a superb addition to this City side, with midfielders like Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes not really adding much since moving to the Etihad Stadium last summer.
Kimmich’s future is in doubt and — for obvious reasons — he has been reluctant to dive too deeply into the topic. One thing is certain, though, if Kimmich wants to move to Manchester City and Pep Guardiola wants him, a transfer would be easy to get done, even if Bayern Munich does not want to lose the player.
Bayern Munich defender Eric Dier made the move from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich in January and is loving it.
“It’s just great they [Bayern players] are my teammates now. You get confidence from being around players like that. You learn from being around players like that. You see what they do every day. Obviously, a player like myself who hasn’t won, it’s fantastic to be in a dressing room and at a club where you can learn a lot about that,” Dier said.
It’s finally here…Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid in the Champions League.
A historic matchup between two mega-powers should have both fan bases completely worked up and frothing at the mouth. Okay, so maybe not frothing, but incredibly excited (or even anxious for some) nonetheless.
In this match, there is a copious amount of both star power and intrigue between the two historic clubs. Let’s just get down to business…here is what we have on tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:

Bayern Munich could be back in on Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné. However, if Bayern Munich wants to get 22-year-old, it might have to outbid Liverpool FC:
Liverpool and Bayern Munich are ready to battle for the €45 million French midfielder to add a different profile to their midfield.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich are in the running to sign Manu Koné. His contract with Gladbach runs through June 30, 2026, but it doesn’t appear to be sufficient to keep him from leaving the team.
The winter transfer window could be a good opportunity for the Gladbach midfielder to exit the club. According to Spanish publication Fichjaes, Koné’s club could bid him for around €40–45 million.
Manchester City’s early exit from the Champions League appears to be the precursor for some change on the roster.
One of the players who is being rumored to be on his way out of attacker Jack Grealish:
Manchester City are prepared to listen to offers for Jack Grealish this summer – the 28-year-old cost £100m when joining from Aston Villa in 2021.
It can be assumed that the price tag for Grealish will be incredibly high, which will limit the market for him.
Bayern Munich are about to face Real Madrid in their first Champions League semi-final since 2020. However, that’s not what everyone is talking about. Uli Hoeneß made some inflammatory comments about Thomas Tuchel in the German media and the coach decided to respond in kind. This sort of row is nothing new at the club, but the timing does threaten to derail the club’s most promising CL campaign in years. Is the toxicity at FC Hollywood going too far?
In this episode, INNN and Samrin discuss the following:
- Why did Uli Hoeneß say what he did?
- How this stunt will be seen by coaches and clubs across Europe.
- Uli being Uli — is it time for him to change?
- Why Bayern Munich seem to be having such a hard time finding a new coach.
- Misgivings about hiring Ralf Rangnick.
- How the controversy and the coaching situation could affect the Real Madrid game.
- How will Thomas Tuchel choose to tackle Madrid? What are his options?
One of the contingency options for Bayern Munich if Alphonso Davies leaves the club for Real Madrid is Ferland Mendy — ironically a left-back for Los Blancos.
The Bavarians are not alone in their admiration of Mendy, though, as Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC, and Manchester United are all interested in the left-back:
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in signing Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy.
One of the great disappointments in recent history for Bayern Munich was the transfer of Ryan Gravenberch.
Unable to establish himself for the Bavarians, Gravenberch sulked and complained to the media in an effort to force his way out of the club — which eventually did with a move to Liverpool FC.
Recently, Didi Hamann assess the Dutchman’s first season in England and came away unimpressed.
“I thought he probably would have made more of an impact. Then again, the competition for places is maybe a bit bigger or higher in Liverpool. But obviously he’s got to start playing on a regular basis now,” Hamann told Free Bets. “He’s a big man. He’s got a bit of pace about him. He can finish. He’s got a set of goals, but I’d like to see him score more. There were times in Liverpool this season where they needed a goal from somewhere and there were times where he might have had a chance to make a name for himself. He didn’t.
“It’s his first season. I hope he gets another season. But I think next season he’s got to do better than he did this one.”

João Cancelo spend the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan with Bayern Munich from Manchester City. Now on loan with FC Barcelona, Cancelo recently took some time to say that the level of competition in the Bundesliga surprised him.
“The Bundesliga was harder than I thought. I thought that the German League was easier than it was and that Bayern dominated much more, especially because they had won 10 consecutive titles. Things got complicated in the end, because Dortmund were doing very well when I arrived, playing very good football. I had the pleasure of playing for this team full of talent and experiencing the happiness of winning a title with the club,” Cancelo said.
Former Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee has become one of the hottest commodities in football and is drawing interest from a few Premier League powers.
However, if Zirkzee wants to stay in Italy, Inter Milan might be willing to give the Bologna star a home:
Inter Milan are looking at Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee as a possible target in attack for this summer transfer window. This according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that Bologna want at least €70 million for the 22-year-old.
Moreover, the Gazzetta anticipate, Inter are ready to spend big on a forward. That is likely to be the position in which the club make the biggest investment. Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson is reportedly at the top of Inter’s list of targets in this regard.
The 26-year-old will cost around €30-35 million. Inter are ready to spend that amount, however, if they can raise cash through some smaller sales. On the other hand, if Inter miss out on Gudmundsson – there is competition for the former AZ Alkmaar man’s signature – they have another target from within Serie A.
22-year-old former Bayern Munich striker Zirkzee has certainly been one of the outstanding young strikers in Serie A this season, if not all of Europe. Moreover, Zirkzee’s combination of height and physicality with technical ability has provided a real reference point in attack in terms of holdup play.
However, the Gazzetta notes, Bologna would certainly want to cash in to the maximum extent if Zirkzee is to leave. The Emilian club have placed an ambitious valuation of €70 million on the striker. AC Milan are keen on Zirkzee, the Gazzetta notes. The Rossoneri hope not to pay more than €50 million for the Dutchman. However, Inter could also join their city rivals in the chase.
