Bayern Munich center-back Eric Dier played a key role in helping his squad dispatch the Arsenal FC in the Champions League.
Bayern Munich won the match 1-0 and advanced to the semifinal round based on a 3-2 aggregate score. For Dier, it was awesome to make it this far in the competition…and also to boot the Gunners from the competition along the way.
“It was nice to knock them out, to be honest,” Dier said (as captured by The Daily Mail). “These are the nights that you you want to be a part of and to play for this club play here in a quarterfinal and experience that was was amazing. And we’re just really happy that we got through.
“For me, it’s a privilege to play for a club like this. And, you know, yet I feel extremely proud to play for the club. I love to play every single time, you know, to put on the shirt is special to me.”
Dier will now get a chance to throw on that jersey in a Champions League vs. Real Madrid. Surely, that is not something that Dier felt was conceivable earlier this season as he was languishing on the bench or Tottenham Hotspur.
