Our ex Leicester players and loan men were in action yesterday, possibly giving the golden boot to Jeffrey Schlupp, with his fantastic goal from distance, when Crystal Palace drew 1-1 vs. Fulham. Fulham took the lead early 2nd half, Timothy Castagne assisting Rodrigo Muniz. Calvin Bassey was also in the starting line-up for Fulham.
George Hirst was back in the Ipswich line-up, opening the goal show in Ipswich 3-3 draw vs. Hull.
Youri Tielemans had to leave the field early on, when Aston Villa drew 2-2 vs. Chelsea at home. Tielemans was clutching his groin and made way for Moussa Diaby in the 27th minute.
Harry Maguire played the full game when Man Utd drew 1-1 at home to Burnley. Harvey Barnes, came on in the 66th minute, assisting Callum Wilson when he scored the last of Newcastle’s five goals in the 5-1 win at home to Sheffield United.
Michael Keane was a late sub for Everton in their vital 1-0 win vs. Brentford, securing their position in Premier League. Matty James and Andy King both played a part when Bristol City defeated Rotherham 2-0 at home. James starting the game, playing 64 minutes, King coming on late second half. Victor Johansson was an unused sub for The Millers.
Derby County clinched promotion after winning 2-0 at home to relegated Carlisle. Callum Elder came on as a 2nd half sub, entering the field in the 72nd minute. Martyn Waghorn is out injured, but having a good contribution, scoring 7 goals in 24 outings. The 34 year old is out of contract in the summer.
Luke Thomas played from start in Middlesbrough’s fantastic 4-1 win away to Cardiff. Callum Wright came on for Plymouth, in the 87th minute, but could not help The Pilgrims as they were defeated 1-0 away and are in trouble just one place above the relegation zone.
Cedric Kipre played the full game for West Bromwich in their 0-3 away loss to Sheffield Wednesday. Daniel Iversen kept a clean sheet in The Potters strong 1-0 away win to Southampton. Harry Kane scored both goals when Bayern Munich defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 at home. Jon Hayes was an unused sub for Aberdeen in their 1-0 home win vs. Motherwell.
Kamal Sowah was in the Standard Liege starting line-up against St. Truiden, taken off in the 77th minute. Standard Liege scored their equalizer in the 63rd minute with St. Truiden taking an early lead.
Caglar Soyuncu came on after just 19 minutes when Fenerbahce defeated Besiktas 2-1 at home. Rachid Ghezzal came on for Besiktas in the 46th minute. Cengiz Under was an unused sub for Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce are 2nd, Besiktas 5th, in the Super Lig.
Zach Booth played the full game for Volendam in their 4-0 away defeat to Excelsior. Valuable learning and experience gained for the 20 year old spending time out on loan at the highest level in Dutch football this season. Volendam have been in a relegation fight and their low amount of points made it impossible to avoid relegation.
Elliott Moore played the full game when Oxford secured the play-off’s with a good 2-1 away win vs. Exeter. Peterborough with Josh Knight in their line-up, draw 3-3 with fellow play-off opponent Bolton. Nick Powell has been an important player for Stockport this season, as they are crowned champions of League Two. Powell (30) joined from Stoke in front of the season, earlier a loan man at Leicester, at the time on the books at Man Utd. They had to see themselves defeated against 2nd placed Wrexham winning 2-1 in the last clash of the season.
