Jamie Vardy met the chairman of Leicester City Supporters Club Scandinavian Branch after the match vs. West Bromwich. Per Arne Hansen from Notodden, Norway will soon be back for the game vs. Blackburn, hopefully with no nerves, handing over the player of the season award to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
This was not the first time Per Arne meets up with Leicester players either after a game or on special events, bumping into to several of our past and current heroes at home and away.
Jamie Vardy is of course a favourite of Per Arne, one that has given the true follower of this football team since the early days of the 70’s, so much joy. It seems as if Jamie Vardy has been around forever as well, but Per Arne goes down before, during and hopefully also after Jamie Vardy.
But they both looks to be on board for next season, Jamie Vardy said to be close to a new contract and Per Arne as a long living chairman of The Scandinavian Branch, since the start of this century, being part of the board since the start in 1994.
The stories of Per Arne and his passion for Leicester City makes headlines at the very highest places. The season Leicester won the Premier League, he was a guest in national television on the main daily news channel, NRK. He is often in contact with the different tv channels covering Championship and Premier League, being available for the Norwegian media, regarding Leicester. The supporters club also covers Sweden and Denmark. Contact in Sweden is Soren Filipsson and in Denmark Frank Rask-Poulsen is the spokesman.
Per Arne has handed over a grand number of player of the season awards, meeting players such as Kevin Poole, Paul Dickov, Muzzy Izzet, Kasey Keller, Jamie Vardy, Robbie Savage and Frank Sinclair, just to mention a few of the winners over the years.
One strange happening was the recent visit for the game vs. Bristol City. Per Arne bumped into Robbie Savage a day before, both being in the VIP area at Reading for their game vs. Cambridge, as Per Arne asked Robbie for a picture and talking Leicester, getting that moment pictured.
Per Arne also have a good memories for this years game away to Southampton, meeting Neil Lennon after the game, as Neil took his time to sit down and talk ‘”good old days” with Per Arne.
When Per Arne returns to Leicester for the Blackburn game, this will be his 6th visit this season to watch Leicester home or away, hopefully his support will again see a promotion. He has been around in past relegations and promotions going back to those early days of the 70’s.
