Hamza Choudhury and Conor Coady was replaced by Ricardo Pereira and James Justin as Leicester came out positive early on and had a push and pressure on Southampton from start.
As it waved a bit back and forward we all could enjoy the occassion as Leicester scored in the 25th minute. A lovely goal from Fatawu, played beautifully through by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Then for the rest of the first half it was a bit more possession for Southampton and Leicester struggled with sloppy passing and midfielders especially having problems to just find those pockets needed to go on to getting the next goal.
Southampton could not use that little advantage and it all faded out into the end of first half as Leicester had the lead at the break.
2nd half was a bit like the same, Southampton hammering on to try to get something, but a good Leicester defence kept it together and then when Wilfred Ndidi scored with the header after 62 minutes. A very nice goal with a nice build up, a good pattern of play.
We had to wait to the 75th minute to see this game finally taken to bed, with a blistering shot from Abdul Fatawu, as he curled the ball fantastically behind Alex McCarthy.
Then four minutes later the one and only Jamie Vardy was back on the scoresheet, scoring a fantastic goal with a top build up as the result were going to an extreme level of performance.
The final goal in the rush came in the 81st minute when Abdul Fatawu was handed the ball on a silverplatter from Jamie Vardy, giving the young forward his third in the game, as he finalized the scoreline, Leicester City 5, Southampton 0.
Enzo Maresca put Hamza Choudhury on in the 64th minute as he again made a good contribution coming on. Later on Patson Daka, Conor Coady, Dennis Praet and Kasey McAteer also got their minutes to be part of a very special win at home, as it is one that could see the promotion being fullfilled with this special performance.
Leeds are now four points behind, and if they are defeated or even just getting a draw at Loftus Road, Leicester could be promoted as the goal difference now are four goals in favour of Leicester.
This was a massive result for Leicester, not really playing the Enzoball game we have seen in the past, but one that was conducted for the purpose of scoring goals as Leicester players do have special attributes regarding pace up front that will be exciting to follow in the future.
This was just something that exploded and hopefully it will continue as Leicester take on Preston (away) and Blakcburn (home) in their final fixtures of the season.
