Man United want to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace this summer, though he will not come cheaply.
Manchester United will likely overhaul their defence this summer, as the Red Devils look to add some stability to the back four. Injuries have meant a constant changing of the back line, which has led to major inconsistencies.
As a result, Erik ten Hag is now fearing for his job – though I must admit, he’s made some other silly mistakes along the way…
Big money will have to be spent on a new, reliable centre-half. Among the names linked is Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Now, Times Sport have provided an update on the future of the England international. They say that Guehi is attracting interest from the Red Devils.
United have the 23-year-old on their transfer shortlist, with the player likely to leave The Eagles during the upcoming transfer window. In terms of asking price, Palace are asking for a fee in excess of £55m for one of their star performers.
The Old Trafford club will not have it all their own way, though, with Arsenal also in pursuit of Guehi. Here’s where the problem arises for United. The Gunners are a far more attractive proposition than United right now. They also have Champions League football on the table.
If United can somehow pull this off, it would be an astute piece of business. Guehi is a homegrown player, which is something that INEOS are looking at adding more of into the squad. Yes, it’d be an expensive signing, but this is a reliable player who can potentially partner Lisandro Martinez for years to come.
