Over the past few weeks, transfer rumors have emerged that have linked Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala very closely to Manchester City, with other interest coming in from Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona.
That might seem like a bad sign for the Bavarians, but former Bayern Munich defender and Germany international Markus Babbel does not think that the club will let Musiala slip away.
“With Jamal Musiala, I don’t think he is on his way to the Premier League because Bayern Munich will do everything to keep him at the club, he is the biggest talent at Bayern. He’s an amazing player who always makes a difference. I can’t believe that Bayern Munich would want to sell him. They will also be willing to pay him a lot of money for a longer contract,” Babbel told OLBG. “He is a different class to the other players and of course the English teams are looking for him because he’s a fantastic player and he could improve every team. If he did go to the Premier League he’d need to play for someone like Manchester City, Arsenal or Liverpool, that’s how good he is. But Bayern will give him the money to stay.”
Musiala has 12 goals and seven assists in 37 games across all competitions this season, but his value as one of the game’s up-and-coming stars is what is driving so much interest. Can Bayern Munich find a way to keep him for the long-term?
