Bayern Munich versus Real Madrid, arguably football’s biggest clash, lived up to its reputation. A four-goal thriller saw Bayern trailing, winning and ultimately drawing against 14-time Champions League winners, Real Madrid.
In a game that had all the twists and turns to satisfy the neutral supporters’ appetites, Prime Video DE (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) cites Thomas Tuchel as feeling quite the opposite.
“We started very well and could have taken the lead in the first minute. Then we stopped sticking to our plan. I don’t even know why. We conceded the goal and things got difficult,” said Tuchel.
The Bayern coach was satisfied with his sides second half performance, however, lamented missed chances that cost Bayern a third goal.
“We made it 2-1 and still had a lot of chances – we had to score the third goal. It feels strange. They turned two chances into two goals,” Tuchel remarked.
Tuchel went on to stress the importance of winning in Madrid, thereafter mirroring what he said before the first leg encounter, thus labelling the game a “50-50” as things stand (via @iMiaSanMia).
“The situation is now clear. A win in Madrid and on to Wembley. It’s still a 50-50 game for me. Let’s see what happens,” Tuchel stated.
Ultimately, Tuchel is right about the situation. A win at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid and nothing less is going to be enough to take Bayern to Wembley.
