As feared, Bayern Munich star Raphaël Guerreiro, who has developed into having a key role under Thomas Tuchel, will miss Wednesday’s Champions League match against Real Madrid due a ligament injury he sustained against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich released the news via its website:
FC Bayern will have to make do without Raphaël Guerreiro in the next few matches. The Portuguese sustained a ligament and capsule injury in his ankle in Saturday’s Bundesliga match away at Stuttgart, as confirmed by a scan by the FC Bayern medical department. Guerreiro had to be subbed off in the 17th minute against Stuttgart.
De Ligt, Musiala return to team training
Not all of the news was bad, though, as Matthijs de Ligt and Jamal Musiala both returned to the pitch for a team training session (via FCBayern.com):
Matthijs de Ligt completed FC Bayern’s replacement training on Sunday with the players who were not in the starting eleven in the Bundesliga game against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday. The central defender had missed the games against Real Madrid and Stuttgart and had recently trained individually. Jamal Musiala , who was also injured on Saturday, also completed the session on Säbener Straße on Sunday.
