We weren’t positive about Chelsea’s chances against Everton yesterday.
The Blues are in terrible form, and they are really lacking confidence. Everton are the opposite, and playing at Goodison Park, where we have a poor record, was always going to be hard.
One thing that give us some hope was the restoration of the three man midfield that had had some success last month.
The Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher trio looked to be gelling together quite nicely. But suspension and injury and international duty kept disrupting their rhytmn.
Sadly, the restored group weren’t able to do anything against the Toffees. We looked as open through the middle as we did in midweek against Manchester United, without Gallagher.
After spending to much money on that part of the pitch, it remains a problem, and we just despair of what we can do to fix things. Can we really be looking back to the transfer market to fix things?
