We were amazed to see super agent Jonathan Johnson discussing the rumours about Benoit Badiashile leaving Chelsea seriously in his column for Caughtoffside.
The whispers last week were widespread, but very unlikely sounding. Apparently teams like AC Milan are interested in taking him on loan – but that all seems based on a misunderstanding of the fact that he’s been out injured since the summer until just a few weeks ago.
Honestly, as much as we appreciate Johnson’s standing in the game, we can’t believe these stories for a second.
There’s simply no way that a move now suits Badiashile, Chelsea or anyone else involved. No matter how badly things go for the team, leaving is just not on the cards. Financially it’s impossible, and there’s just no way we can see it happening even next summer, let alone in January.
Badiashile has shown a lot of promise, and we expect him to look great once this team is functioning as a whole.
