“I would hope the players, without any influence from me, in the past couple of seasons will know that you have to respect everybody in the Premier League. I think that’s growing here…the underbelly of the performance is the hard yards; the work that the team are willing to put in, and that’s been on show. So, if you mix that with good organisation and quality, then you have a chance in every game. You certainly have a chance to be competitive in the Premier League, and that’s what we’re looking to be,” says Sean Dyche. [EFC]
Dyche has also revealed that Coleman and Young will be out due to injury, while Branthwaite and Gueye miss out due to yellow card accumulation. [RBM]

“Mason [Holgate] came back into the team and did really well after a difficult start, he can’t do anything else than play really well and be a good teammate…he is out of the team because the other guys have played well and that is frustrating for him. I can’t sit here and say he is definitely staying. Would we want him to stay? Yes. He is a great teammate, he’s got a great energy around the place and he’s been good on the pitch the last few times. However, I also understand that he probably wants to play more minutes and for Everton, it is probably frustrating as well,” says Southampton manager Russell Martin. [Daily Echo]

They’re stronger defensively and they’re making Goodison Park a fortress which is something they need to win games…the Premier League is such a weird campaign this year, and without having 10 points deducted they would be on 23 points and ahead of Chelsea.
