West Ham are reportedly in talks with Manchester City over a loan move for out-of-favour midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The 28-year-old has started just two games for Pep Guardiola‘s side and he has made only 31 appearances for City since his £45million signing in 2022.
The Hammers are one of a number of clubs interested in signing the player, who is in danger of losing his place in the England squad ahead of the European Championship this summer.
According to ESPN, the London club have begun discussions with the Premier League champions over temporary move this month.
The outlet go on to claim that City are seeking a loan fee in the region of £7m, as well as an obligation to buy the former Leeds star at the end of the campaign.

David Moyes has been an admirer of the player for some time, having failed in an attempt to pry him away from Elland Road in January 2022.
The Hammers boss kept his powder dry when asked about Phillips during his press conference ahead of the weekend fixture against Sheffield United, telling reporters: ‘It’s wrong to talk about players from other football clubs.’
West Ham are eager to strengthen their roster that has been weakened by injury and national team selections.
Mohammed Kudus is currently playing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana, while Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio both face lengthy absences. Star man Jarrod Bowen continues to recover from an ankle injury and may even be fit for the trip to Bramall Lane.
Moyes also confirmed that midfielder Edison Alvarez missed the side’s FA Cup replay defeat at the hands of Championship side Bristol City with a calf problem.
Newcastle were believed to be the likely destination for Phillips, though the Magpies are reluctant to match City’s demands.

‘He’s a good player,’ said Hodgson. ‘I would like to think that if Kalvin Phillips is available and a possibility for the club – once again, there will be financial restrictions, who knows whether the club feels they will be able to afford that – but if you’re talking about the level of player, I don’t feel there will be many managers who would not say ‘yeah, we will be really happy to have him come to the club’.
He added: ‘If they are purely going to sell him, then I don’t think we will be in the market. If they’re going to loan him, I would like to think that we could possibly put our hand up and push ourselves forward.’
