Things have turned completely hostile out there right now amongst the Chelsea fanbase, the media, and pundits alike.
Chelsea lost 4-2 to Wolves at home on Sunday afternoon and were subsequently and deservedly booed off the pitch at half time and again at full time.
EXCLUSIVE! BIG injury update on long-term injured Chelsea star and when he is now expected back!
The fans were irate and angry, and you can completely understand why. Blame has been placed on the manager, the owners, the sporting directors, and the players, and rightly so. They all need to be having a long hard look at themselves in the mirror this morning.
But it is the owners and the sporting directors who are the ones who have assembled all this – the coaching staff and the players, so is this essentially where the buck should stop at?
I don’t always rate or like what Steve Nicol says on ESPN, and I think he goes over the top and is a bit harsh at times. But some of the stuff he’s said after the Wolves defeat actually holds weight and does make you think.
Steve Nicol: “This is a bad team. Whoever has picked these players has shown that they’re in the wrong job.”

Steve Nicol: “When you’re young, you need some experience around you. Enzo Fernandez has got a World Cup winner’s medal, but in football terms, his experience isn’t huge.”

Steve Nicol: “Conor Gallagher doesn’t get anywhere close to the Top 4 sides. Raheem Sterling? You can’t trust this guy, you don’t know what you’re going to get. Nicolas Jackson is clearly not good enough. You could go through the whole team.”

Steve Nicol: “Some players don’t have great football brains, like Mykhailo Mudryk for example. In an open game with plenty of space, with the pace he has, he will probably look good. But in terms of football brain? Does he really have one? It doesn’t seem like it.”
