Football Insider have an exclusive report this afternoon which claims that Mauricio Pochettino is “not under imminent sack pressure,” despite the tension rising immensely following two horrific defeats in a week.
A “well placed source” has apparently told them that the ownership have learned lessons from last season and will do anything they can to keep the current boss in place. Things feel like they’re at breaking point, but as we’ve seen countless times, a couple of wins against bad teams make all the difference.
We’re still pretty confident that Pochettino will see out this season at a minimum. If we were to continue to concede 4 goals every game that obviously wouldn’t be the case, but he has the resources to win enough games between now and May to keep his job, and everyone above him at the club knows it’s a terrible look to dump a third manager in 18 months.
Unless he loses so much it’s impossible to keep him, it seems like everyone is going to do all they can to make it work.
