Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has spoken to the club’s media channels and has told them that his team is “ready” for the challenge tonight, after making 3 changes to the team that was embarrassed 4-2 at home by Wolves on Sunday.
They were booed off at home and the coach faced an intense 24 hours of pressure where it felt like his job was under serious threat for the first time. But he’s still in the dugout tonight, and he has insisted that the team he’s picked can do a better job than the one he selected a week ago.
“After Wolverhampton [the 4-2 loss] the team is ready and we have made some changes to make sure we can compete,” the coach told Chelsea TV cameras, looking a little tense ahead of what feels like a “must-win” – and is certainly a “must-perform”
Let’s hope he’s right. If they concede another 4 tonight, he will surely be bumped up to be favourite to be sacked among Premier League managers. On the other hand, an away win against this impressive Villa side would count heavily in his favour.
