Yesterday saw some interesting links between Chelsea and Flamengo forward Pedro emerge.
We’ve signed a boatload of Brazilians in the last couple of years, but they’ve all been much more young, raw talents.
Pedro is 26, so from a different category. But he’s scored goals so consistently that it’s becoming hard to ignore him if you’re a goal-shy team like Chelsea.
Clearly every top European side will have taken a look and decided that he’s either too expensive or not that good. But maybe he can still be an effective player for us, at the right price?
The bad news is that Jorge Nicola, who covered the news yesterday, is now saying that it could be a tricky deal to pull off, as Flamengo’s other forward Gabriel Barbosa is out of contract this summer, meaning they’re keen to keep Pedro if possible.
Still, if we really want him and rate him, we can get him.
