Spanish source Fichajes are today trying to talk up the prospect of Chelsea interest in Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.
The all action Uruguayan utility man is a joy to watch, covering huge distances and leaving it all on the field for his team, as well as boasting a fearsome shot. But do Chelsea have a real chance of signing him?
We’ve always like the idea of signing Valverde, but let’s be real, he’s part of a Real Madrid side that is set up for unprecedented success for years to come, he’s happy and settled and well paid.
How could he be tempted to leave? Probably with some vast contract, of the type that Chelsea just don’t give out at the moment. So this one just feels like a non-starter, unless Valverde starts to push for a move – and we simply can’t see why he’d do that.
