Matt Law is reporting today in the Daily Telegraph that Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali will both be in attendance at the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
That shouldn’t come as a huge surprise – it’s the club’s first appearance in a domestic final since they bought it. But neither of the two have been seen much at Stamford Bridge in recent times, and there were even rumours of a rift between them. Law says that “sources close to the club and both men” have denied that there’s been any “cooling” in their relationship.
Wind the clock back to the early days of their ownership and you’ll find they weren’t just controlling transfers, they were also going into the dressing room quite regularly. That has mercifully stopped now, with Boehly barely seen this season, apart from when he had a film to promote.
Eghbali has been more visible, but even his presence hasn’t been felt much recently.
But a chance for a trip to Wembley is what all owners want, so we’re not surprised to hear they’ll be present.
