Chelsea’s game tomorrow night is against Leeds, a rivalry game that we could have done without in the circumstances. It’s quite an obscure rivalry in the grand scheme of things, given it’s based on the 1970 FA Cup final, and coach Mauricio Pochettino was asked about whether he and his team were aware of the signficicance:
“Of course… the players are aware, we are aware. It’s going to be a tough game,” he responded.
The pressure is on Pochettino and this group pretty severely already. The fact that this is a game with a nasty history against our old rivals only takes things up a notch.
It could actually work in our favour, as it may get Stamford Bridge rowdy in backing the players more than usual.
