Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Serhii Palkin has described Mykhailo Mudryk as the most “talented and unique player in the world.”
Mudryk has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge following his arrival from Shakhtar Donetsk for an initial £62.5m in a well publicised transfer battle with Arsenal in January 2023.
The 23 year old didn’t manage to score for the Blues last season and has only managed to find the back of the net on four occasions so far this campaign.
The forward hasn’t been given many opportunities by Mauricio Pochettino and has only started nine games in the Premier League with the Argentine suggesting that his performances hadn’t been good enough to keep his place in the side.
Despite the criticism Mudryk has faced from both fans and media Shaktar CEO Palkin has no doubts on the player and speaking to beIN Sports said: “I can tell you that for me, Mudryk is the most talented and unique player in the world. I believe that in order to get the maximum from Mudryk, as they anticipate, you need to invest in him. And these investments are not money.”
“The investment is time with the coaching staff to communicate with him and to work closely with him because he is a young boy. He changed from the Ukrainian Championship to the English Premier League.”
The Ukrainian international will be hoping he gets an opportunity to impress against Leeds in the FA Cup tonight after failing to have an impact from the bench in the Carabao Cup final last Sunday.
