For all his issues as a coach, Mauricio Pochettino has been impressive in not getting drawn into conflict with the fans.
There have been a few hairy moments in his tenure, and none hairier than right now. The fans at the GTech stadium were singing for Jose Mourinho, and calling for the end of this ownership immediately.
As always, Pochettino very diplomatically dodged around it, saying first that he didn’t hear anything, then saying that any problems were his responsibility.
“I take responsibility,” he grinned.
He knows there’s nothing to be gained confronting his supporters. All that will turn them around is wins, and he knows it.
